Band night in the club - Sunday 13th March

Next Sunday we welcome the YEP Brass group to the club to perform at our monthly concert.

Proceedings will start as usual at 8pm so come along and join us in supporting our fellow local musicians.

Debutants take stage at the Area contest

Kippax welcomed some new (and not so new) faces to our ranks at the areas last weekend.

We’d like to welcome Eb Tuba player Mark Wildie who made his contesting debut with the band, whilst tenor horn player Anita Morrison also made a welcome return ahead of the contest.

Anita's return saw a reshuffle amongst the ranks as Andrea Nash made a quick adjustment from Eb to Bb, joining the back row cornets ahead of the contest.

A warm welcome to Mark and a welcome back to Anita! and well done Andrea on a quick adjustment from Eb to Bb!

Sam hangs up her Flugel

Flugelhorn player Sam Morris took to the stage for the last time at yesterday's area contest, as she's taking what we hope will be a temporary break from her banding.

Sam has served the Band for 9 years and we'd like to place on record our thanks for her service in both playing and committee roles. Thanks Sam, and don't be gone too long!

6th place at Yorkshire Areas

The band consolidated its place in section 2 with a 6th place finish out of 11 competing bands at the Yorkshire regional championships.

After a tough couple of months the general consensus was that we gave a good account of ourselves and that the result felt about right, as we continue our rebuilding.

Thanks to all our players who stepped up and pulled on the black and gold jacket of Kippax black and gold yesterday, well done everyone.
